FAQs
What are your care instructions?
Please care for Bead Farm jewelry as you would with any valued piece of jewelry. To keep the materials in your jewelry in good condition, do not wear while swimming, bathing, or heavily exercising. Avoid contact with abrasive or sharp objects, water, oils, lotions, perfume, chemicals, and excessive perspiration, as these things may alter bead finishes or cause damage to the materials in your jewelry. For long lasting jewelry, please follow these guidelines.
My order is a gift- can you send it directly to the recipient?
Yes, we can! If you would like your order sent to another address as a gift, please make sure you provide the correct shipping address at checkout.
Do you offer gift wrapping?
Yes! The gift wrapping option is found above the "ADD TO CART" button. Just check the box, add a personal message to be included on the hand-stamped gift tag, and that's all there is to it! The cost is $2.50 per item. (If you don't see the gift wrapping option, wait just a few seconds. Sometimes it's a little slow loading on the page.)
My gift bag/tags options are Christmas, Valentine's Day, Birthday, and All Occasion. Please indicate which occasion gift bag/tag you prefer when leaving your personal message.
Do you combine shipping?
We charge a small flat fee for each order, regardless of how many items you purchase.
Does shipping include tracking?
Yes it does. Once we have purchased a shipping label for your package, you will receive a notification of shipment which includes a USPS tracking number.
Do you take custom orders?
Feel free to ask me to customize an order for you. If it's a certain size you need, I will need accurate measurements from you.
How can I accurately measure my wrist?
Measure your wrist where you prefer to wear your bracelets. Lightly wrap the tape measure so that it's touching your skin all the way around your wrist without pulling too snug or leaving loose gaps. I'll need the actual wrist measurement in inches. Do not add extra because I always add 1/2" to the total length for wiggle room.
If you do not have a tape measure, use a string, or piece of yarn or ribbon. Wrap around your wrist as you would a tape measure- mark. Then measure to that mark using a ruler.
Is "bracelet size" the same thing as "wrist size"?
Some people think wrist size and bracelet size are the same thing, but that is not true. If you buy a bracelet that is exactly the same length as your wrist size, it will be too small! You'll need a little extra length to account for the thickness of the beads and to fasten the clasp. When providing a size for me, please use your actual wrist measurement, not a bracelet size.
Sometimes when placing a custom order, I add a little length to my actual wrist measurement in order to have "wiggle room". Should I do this or not?
The answer to this question is Yes and No.
Yes, in my "Cutie Picasso Collection" please do add your own preferred amount of wiggle room.
No, with all other bracelets that have size options, please select your actual wrist measurement from the drop down list. I will calculate wiggle room into your actual wrist measurement. If you and I both add wiggle room, the bracelet will be too large!
If you'd like, you can request in a note to me the type of fit you'd like:
Close fit / Average fit / Loose fit
This info will help me adjust the wiggle room length according to your preference.
How do I know which necklace length to order?
Here's a necklace guide you can go by:
How shall I measure to get a good fit on choker necklaces?
Using a flexible measuring tape, strip of paper, or piece of string, wrap it around your neck where you prefer to wear your choker necklaces. There should not be slack- it needs to touch your skin all the way around your wrist without pulling tight.
If you used a strip of paper or string, mark it where the end meets. Then measure to that mark with a ruler. This is your actual neck size. Please provide your actual neck measurement when choosing a size. I will add a little less than 1/2" extra length which will take into account the thickness of the beads and also give you ease in fastening the clasp.
How shall I measure for a good fit on an anklet?
Wrap a piece of yarn or cord around your ankle at the position you prefer to wear your anklets. (Some women prefer to wear them above the ankle bone. Others prefer to wear them very loose and dangling below the ankle bone. When measuring, please consider how loose or snug you'd like the fit to be). Once you have determined the perfect length for you, mark the yarn/cord and then measure to that mark using a ruler. You will need to provide me with the measurement you obtained which DOES include the amount of slack you prefer.
